Plant-based Ironman & Marathoner, Ryan & Leigh Kennedy, present in-person, ‘Plant-based Nutrition for Peak Performance’: From beginning exerciser to competitive athlete, learn how to optimize performance and recover faster.

Based on Ryan & Leigh’s competitive experiences & improved performance as plant-based athletes as well as Brendan Brazier, professional Ironman triathlete’s book series ‘Thrive’, participants will receive resources including example meal plans & recipes, nutrition guidance for before and after exercise/competitions, and strategies to speed recovery. Join us to learn how to make a leap in your athletic performance.

As a Michigan State Collegiate All Big 10 Performer & National Qualifier for Track & Cross-Country, Ryan has always been a top competitive athlete. Post collegiate results include: top 3 finishes in elite mountain biking events, three-time qualifier For Ironman World Championships and most recently finished second in age group & 16th overall out of 2300 athletes at Ironman Lake Placid.

As a working mom, avid runner, bicyclist, and Hot Yogi, Leigh consistently logs ~25 miles/week, bikes 3x/week, and participates in Bikram Hot Yoga 3-4x/week.  She attributes her decrease in ‘athlete aches’ and almost non-existent recovery time to plant-based nutrition. Having competed in several half-marathons in past years, Leigh recently trained & completed her first marathon as a plant-based athlete, qualifying for the Boston Marathon in her first attempt.
